Why not facing out?

Can someone link me to a good English language explanation for why not to face out? There's so much about good positioning in German, but the English-language babywearing community is not nearly as dogmatic about it as here. I want to send my cousin a credible link, so it's not just me saying not to. Thanks!

I dont have any good links for you but did you search The baby wearer.com? They have lots of articles about babywearing.

Good luck!

You have to register to read stuff there, so I don't want to pass on a link that my cousin will have to register to read. Thanks, though.

Thanks, Arwen, for the flyer. I didn't know there was one translated.

The issue with carriers such as Bjorn has to do with the way the babies weight is distributed it is not good for the hips. Carriers like ergo distribute the weight in a healthier manner. I think facing out does not allow for proper support. Not does dangling by the crotch appear to be very comfortable.
