In 2006 and following, there was an english playgroup in the Barmbek/Winterhude area, but I dunno whether that one still exists - try the AWC, maybe they know about one in your area. http://www.awchamburg.org/club-activiti ... ities.html
Have you checked kidsgo? http://www.kidsgo.de/termine/krabbelgru ... district=1
or try it at toytowngermany: http://www.toytowngermany.com/hamburg/

Otherwise, I met a lot of british/american moms at http://www.kindermusikwitheve.de - but I guess most of them stopped going to music class at the age of 3 in favor of other activities (just like we did - here, it's ponyriding and ballettclass now... :? )

Good luck!

Yes, we did Kindermusik from 4 months till my big girl turned 3 and decided, she'd prefer ballettclass or ponyriding.
Now with the little one we're back with Eve
It's rather expensive, but if you divide it, the amount of money is about 10€ per lesson, including instrument, book and CD.
And both girls SO love it (the big one even skipped Kindergarten today because she begged me to take her to the baby's class just to see Eve). It's really worth the money, I'd say.

Dunno how the AWC handles this, I met most of the native speakers at the music class and could have joined their playgroup, if the commute hadn't been so long.
